Opportunity to Take Temporary Membership of Mount Florida Community Council

MFCC is a group of local people who are committed to making our neighbourhood an ever more attractive and prosperous place to live. Our role is to represent all local views and to pursue projects in the interest of the area. We are supported by a network of unelected volunteers.

We have places for five more Community Councillors on a temporary basis until formal elections are held in October 2021 or whenever COVID restrictions allow after that.

There is plenty of scope for new members to influence our projects and up-coming work, including:
– inputting to, and scrutinising GCC’s plans for less and slower traffic in Mount Florida
– taking forward the plans for the Letherby Triangle public space
– representing Mount Florida on the board of Queens Park Arena
– representing Mount Florida residents in the licensing and organisation of events held at Hampden Park

Any resident of Mount Florida over the age of 16 is eligible to join the Community Council. You need to fill in this form and return to the email address provided. You need a proposer and a seconder who must also live within the boundary. Processing is made easier if all three people are on the electoral roll at addresses inside the boundary. Signatures can be be typed so there is no need for printing or scanning.

There is no strict deadline for applications, although we are keen to have applicants before our next meeting on 23rd February 2021.

If you would like to find out more, please send a message to moflococo@gmail.com or call our Chair, Chris Carus on O7852 856969.
