We have responded to the Scottish Government’s consultation on Penalty Charge Notices for Parking Enforcement and encourage residents to share their views.
You can read our response here (pdf). Our main point is that neither the current nor the proposed penalties are high enough to deter fans driving to Hampden and parking illegally in our neighbourhood. Whether the penalty is £30, £50 or £60, split between a few fans its really very little next to the cost of public transport or a hotel. The downside for Mount Florida is busy, dangerous and polluted streets and a lack of parking for residents – not a fair deal for neighbours of Hampden.
We encourage residents to also share their views with the government through the online consultation at this link (closes 4th October). Please feel free to copy or adapt our response.
